The Academic Vice President’s Office of St. Mary’s University, in collaboration with the ICT Department, successfully conducted a comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS) Training for academic staff on September 25, 2026. The training was organized as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital teaching and learning practices and enhance the effective use of technology in education.
Facilitated by Ato Solomon Hunegnaw, Director of ICT, and Ato Mohamod Ali, the full-day training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in using the latest version of the University’s LMS. The session focused on equipping instructors with the skills needed to effectively manage course delivery, assessments, and academic communication through the platform.
Key areas covered during the training included:
- Overview of the updated LMS
- Course creation and management
- Uploading and organizing learning materials
- Online administration and grading of quizzes, assignments, and examinations
- Utilizing LMS tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
Academic staff from various departments actively participated in practical exercises and discussions, gaining valuable insights into the platform’s capabilities and applications.
The training successfully achieved its objectives by improving participants’ competencies in LMS utilization and supporting the University’s commitment to technology-enabled, student-centered learning.
